I was buzzing around my AO3 account the other day and realized that I still have two invitations open to give out.  As I was trying to figure out what to do with them, it hit me, why not hold a contest for people who might want (and not yet have) accounts over at archiveofourown.org?  And if you've never heard of that site, it's a fantastic database of fanfiction for anything out there that fanfiction can be written for - games, movies, TV shows, books, etc.  Thing is, you either have to put yourself on a waiting list (that can last a few months or longer) to get an account, or you can have a member send you an invitation which will grant you

Hello to all my fantastic friends and watchers!! Just shy of a week ago, back on the 16th of this month, I had a birthday (if you didn't catch the notification by dA).  Luckily I follow the theme of 'You're only as old as you feel' because otherwise, I'm not ready to be the age I am.  If you're wondering how many years of life I have under my belt, I'm a quarter of a century plus ten years old, or my favorite way of saying it - 21 with 14 years of experience.  I know that compared to some I'm just a baby, but to the rest of you, I'm probably a smidge shy of old fart status ~dragonlaugh (https://www.deviantart.com/dragonlaugh) I want to say a big thank you to OpheliaBell (https://www.deviantart.com/opheliabell)

STARSHINE: Book One of Aurora Rising is this close to publication! The paperback proof is on the way, the Kindle eBook is formatted—I just have a few hundred more things to do to get ready . But I am anticipating a launch the week of March 24th. I really wish that there were different filter setting. There's increasingly grosser posts now on DA that are not at all artistic in the least. I think everyone can agree that there is some nudity which is not sexual, and there are many pieces where there is no nudity, which are HIGHLY sexual. I won't ever be turning on my mature filter because I don't want to miss either, as long as its art. What I don't want to see are pictures of vaginas or penises up close, tortured genitals, crappy cellphone selfies, pictures depicting human toilet, pee, poo and assholes, I don't see anything artistic about a photo up someone's asshole. really. I was browsing around deviantART today when I found a piece of art that I liked so naturally, I faved it. Sometimes, when I fav something, the artist will come to my page and leave a comment telling me thanks. Sometimes they won't. Either one doesn't bother me because I'm not looking for anything in return. But to my surprise, when I faved that piece of art today, this was the comment left on my page a few moments later: Instead of saying thank you, or showing some sort of gratitude, they had simply instructed me to comment when I fav. I thought this was incredibly rude and obnoxious. First of all, no one owes you anything on this site.
